![]() ![]() Upon check in, as luck would have it, there was a convention so we had to wait a bit in line. There was some pros and cons but overall my experience was good. The Rio Hotel is good place at the right price. make sure you do not stay on the side with the garbage dump. One night they had the sewer pump truck out there at 2 am pumping and the whole room smelled like sewer gas!! We called they did apologize to us. All night the trucks came and went to the loading dock loud and could not sleep. I cannot believe that a establishment would not cover a pile of trash of this magnitude, there were old mattresses, furniture, hundreds of bags of garbage piled high. ![]() But the view was awful, we looked at the loading dock and a trash pile. The new room itself was very well appointed and had allot of room for Vegas standard rooms. We went down and had to wait at the desk for a 1/2 for the customer service rep to find out "who we talked to" before she could move us. We called downstairs and they said they could transfer us to the other building. We checked in and the room they gave us in the tower was so outdated it looked like a 80's funeral home and had not been cleaned well. I chose the Rio because of the rates and wanted to try something different. I have stayed in numerous condos and resorts. I am a frequent visitor to Vegas, probably 7 times a year for work and pleasure. ![]()
